Obradoiro’s offensive records have dropped alarmingly in recent weeks. The group prepared by Moncho Fernández does not show its best face in attack. It doesn’t hit the opposite ring. In the last three games, Obra remained at 58, 67 and 65 points against Tenerife, Breogán and Manresa.
In seven of the 25 games played The team from the capital of Galicia has never scored more than 70 points. Three of these matches were at Caldeira de Sar against Gran Canaria (58), Tenerife (58) and Breogán (67). The other four cases where the conflict ended below 70 were on someone else’s track. Interestingly, what happened in Santiago happened against these three same teams, namely Tenerife (67), Breogán (59) and Gran Canaria (68).
It is clear that the defenses of the two Canarian teams and the Lugo team stifle the obradoirist shooters. The seventh day in which the team from Santiago did not reach 70 points was an obligation last Sunday at the Manresa Stadium (65).
In this course, Moncho Fernández’s quintet did not exceed 60 points three times. On the contrary, they have only prevented opponents from reaching 70 in three of the 25 games played this season: Bilbao (64) and Girona (63), in Sar; and Breogán (64), on someone else’s field.
In the last match against Manresa, only two players scored in double figures: Thomas Scrubb (16 points) and Phil Scrubb (13). The Santiago quintet finished with a poor balance in outside shooting, with a 20 percent three-point efficiency (6 of 30). Moncho Fernández’s men added nine points in the first quarter.
Against Breogán, in the Sara derby, the interiors of Obra are not represented. They were missing. Among the three, they converted only two points: Magnay (2), Blažević (0) and Rubén Guerrero (0). Fortunately, Vicedo (21 points, 6 of 9 three-pointers) and Robertson (19 points, 2 of 9 three-pointers, 4 of 7 points and 5 of 7 free throws) got off the bus in time, although their good contribution did not serve to break the show group off No more than ten points were scored by the Obradoirists in the third quarter.
The three consecutive games with less than 70 started against Tenerife. Obra remained at 58, and only Robertson gave signs of life in the attack. 21 team points in the first half.
