Carlos Alcaraz will play the semi-finals of the Miami Open against the Italian Jannik Sinner, after beating Taylor Fritz very strongly this morning in two sets 6-4, 6-2, in an hour and 17 minutes. Both tennis players arrived without losing a single set in the entire tournament, in which it was their first encounter.

The Spaniard is two steps away from retaining the number one in the world and requalifying the title in Florida. The start of the game was violent from Alcaraz, who broke Fritz’s serve in his first game and won his own at a quick 2-0. To win his first game, Fritz had to go through forty equal five times and play Alcaraz for nine minutes. The North American was forced to serve up to twenty serves.

Since then, each has prevailed in his service, but knowing how to solve moments of complication. He eventually secured his last serve of El Palmar for 6-4, closing out the first set in 46 minutes and forcing Taylor Fritz to drop a set for the first time in Miami.

The new set began as the previous one ended. Alcaraz won nine balls in a row to end the first and start the second. They served him to start by breaking Fritz’s serve. Alcaraz’s second break came with Fritz already getting desperate, making inappropriate mistakes for him, Sinner waiting.
