Gonzalo Montiel, accused of sexual abuse in Argentina

A lawsuit was filed against the football player in the Argentine judiciary for alleged serious sexual abuse Gonzalo Montiel, defense of Seville and a world champion with the Albiceleste, according to the victim’s lawyer on Thursday. The 26-year-old was a member of Argentina’s River Plate between 2016 and 2021, years in which he won the Copa Libertadores — against Boca Juniors in 2018 — and two South American Cup Winners’ Cups, along with the Liga, three Cups and two Super Cups. In August 2021, he signed for Sevilla.

As an international, he was involved in three titles won by The Ladder: Copa América 2021, Finalissima 2022 and the World Cup in Qatar 2022 in the final of which he scored the last penalty in the shootout against France, which was a victory for Argentina.
