Michael Matt has become a father for the first time.

Michael Matt’s season has been mixed, but privately he is in seventh heaven. On Monday, the slalom ace announced the birth of his daughter Emily on Instagram.

“Welcome to the world, our little angel,” writes the 29-year-old with the photo showing the newborn. According to the name bracelet, the girl was born on Saturday. It is the first child for Matt, who has won a World Cup slalom so far (Kranjska Gora 2017), and his girlfriend Rebekka.

Several Austrian ski stars such as Marco Schwarz and Ricarda Haaser were the first to congratulate, as well as numerous retired ski greats such as Anna Veith, Hannes Reichelt and Michaela Kirchgasser.

The season ends with a happy ending for Michael Matt, brother of Olympic champion Mario (43), after only finishing in the top 15 of the World Cup this season (15th in Wengen). (che)
