The Swiss national team U21 starts the EM year in Almeria (Sp) on Friday evening. In the summer she has to prove herself in a hammer group with Italy, France and Norway. In preparation, Patrick Framework’s team is currently testing against Spain and Israel.

With a healthy dose of ambition, he wants to make his dreams come true. “I would like to play for Manchester City one day.” The Citizens’ style of play has done it for him. “It also matches my style of play to some extent.”
But the present is called U21 national team. That alone fills Blum with pride. “Arriving for Switzerland means a lot to me. It’s been that way since my first appearance with the U15s. Hearing and singing the national anthem for Switzerland. It’s just a beautiful moment.”
One day Blum also wants to sing the psalm in the A-Nati. Given the current lack of fullbacks, Blum could soon become a serious option. “But I never interacted with Murat Yakin.” If he continues like this, that will soon change.
