The MotoGP class is the highest class in motorsport. Like Formula 1 in car racing, it is referred to as the premier class of motorcycle racing. The second highest class is Moto2, which evolved from the 250cc class in 2010. The Moto3 class is the third highest class in motorsport.

The same points system is used in MotoGP as well as in Moto2 and Moto3. The top 15 will score points in each race. The winner gets 25 points, then it goes to 1 point for the 15th. Whoever has the most points at the end of the season is world champion. There is also a team rating, in which all points achieved by the pilots in a team are added together. In the constructors’ classification, the best result of a driver of the relevant brand counts.

SRF also offers the full program in the 2023 season and broadcasts all Moto2 or MotoGP races on SRFzwei, SRFinfo or in the stream on the homepage or in the app.
What you already know from Formula 1 will also be available in MotoGP from the 2023 season: sprint races. Unlike in Formula 1, these do not only take place at selected stations, but at every race. And every Saturday. Duration: about 20 minutes. Points are awarded for the top 9: 12, 9, 7, 6, 5, 4, 3, 2, 1.
The toughest season ever awaits the MotoGP riders. For now there are no sprint races in Moto2.
