Manuel Trevin wins the Monterroso slalom

Fabio García and Iván Picallo won the podium in the competition in Lugo, in a Peugeot 306 and a Citroën Saxo.

The motorcycle competition season started this Saturday with the celebration of Mr the tenth edition of the Monterroso Slaloman event organized by Mix Rallye Sports and attended by more than fifty teams, the best of which was Manuel Trevin, driving a BMW, with a time of 2:10.550.

Rain was the occasional companion for the hundreds of fans who traveled to the city of Lugo to enjoy a motoring day that marks the start of the year with 47 sporting events.

A little after 11:00 a.m., the check-up began with the start of training, on which the fast track already planned by the organization showed some differences between the teams. In that initial run, Iván Picallo placed best with a time of 2:21.780.

With little time to rest, aware of the need to take advantage of the winter sunshine, the organizers started a second leg where the weather was used and allowed all teams to improve their times. In that first timed passage, the best was Manuel Trevin, who at the wheel of a BMW Compact beat Iván Picall by 1.9 seconds and Marija Saa by 5.4. The top five in this first official round were completed by Fabio García and Sergio Fernández, in a Peugeot 306 GTI and a BMW 325i Y36.

In the second and final timed leg, which started after 18:00 with a large crowd throughout the course, the best time was once again Manuel Trevin, with a time of 2:10.550. The first three classified in this second pass were completed by Fabio García and Mario Saa.

Thus, the winner of the tenth edition of the Monterroso slalom, the first points test for the Galician Championship in that specialty, was Manuel Trevin, with a time of 2:10.550 and driving a BMW, confirming his dominance throughout the year. Saturday day. Fabio García and Iván Picallo took the podium in the competition in Lugo (thanks to their time in the first official race), in a Peugeot 306 and a Citroën Saxo.

In the novice category, the best was Damián Peña, in a BMW, while the best in initiation after the official race days was Miguel Ángel Cela, in a Renault Clio.
