Just in time for the start of the play-offs, more or less popular protests with banners and minutes of silence were held in the (sold out) fan stands in the stadiums. The match dates, which are not what they used to be, have entered the crosshairs of the fans. Until now everyone played every other day, now the series are divided and played every day. Apparently there is also criticism of the uncertainty about which days their own team will play in the further course of the play-offs, should they be involved in the further course.

However, this was not known before this change either, because the start of the next phase may have been brought forward (this is no longer the case). The only uncertainty concerns game 7 of the final series: the Swiss Life Arena would then be occupied and the game would be played on Saturday instead of Thursday. A joke from the camp of the ZSC Lions: the stadium built to escape the schedule salad in the Hallenstadion, you know.

Is splitting the series a brilliant idea or the worst idea ever? In my humble opinion: brilliant. Two games per night is sharper than four games every other night. Even fan curves like to hang on to the good old days, though nothing is more responsible for the good old days than a bad memory. Tradition? A commonly used word, also (or: especially?) in a sporting context.
