Baby monitor at EHC Biel!

Harri Säter becomes a father for the second time.

Harri Säteri (33) recorded his eighth shutout of the season in the 3-0 win in Bern on Thursday. The best goalkeeper in qualifying also shone at the start of the play-offs, it was calmness personified. At the same time, he is very excited at the moment – the Finnish Olympic and World Champion will become a father for the second time.

So on Tuesday it was not clear for a long time whether Säteri would be able to play at all. But since the baby alarm had not yet broken, Bieler Lebensversicherung stood in the gate. However, it is uncertain whether that will also be the case in game 2 in Bern on Thursday.

Does Säteri run away in the middle of the game?

“The baby is expected in the course of this quarter-final series,” explains sports director Martin Steinegger. Of course he hopes that – in the spirit of EHC Biel – his date of birth falls on a non-match day. But does the unborn child see it that way? The danger of Säteri failing remains latent.

Or maybe the Finn is between the posts, but is substituted halfway through the game and rushes to his wife Henrika because the time has come. “That’s conceivable,” says Steinegger. “But actually we try to avoid such a situation. If it gets difficult, we will probably do without Harri.” With Joren van Pottelberghe, the Seelanders have a second good keeper at hand.

SCB trembles for Sceviour

Fortunately for Biel, in this situation they have the best possible opponent in the quarterfinals in Bern due to the short distance. If the trip were to Davos or Lugano, for example, there would be a much higher risk of your star goalie not making the trip. By the way, Henrika and Harri Säteri become parents for the second time, the first-born daughter Herta is 2 years old.

The SCB may also have to complain about a failure for game 2. Colton Sceviour was injured in Game 1 after meeting Beat Forster and is doubtful. The Canadian was one of the best Berners in the 3-0 defeat in Biel.
