How Schumi married Oscar winner Yeoh

She is the big winner at the 95th Oscars: Michelle Yeoh (60) is named Best Actress for her role in the film “Everything Everywhere All at Once”, which wins seven (!) of the 17 Oscars in Los Angeles.

The Malaysian actress, who appeared on camera as a Bond girl in “Tomorrow Never Dies” in 1997, is the first Asian woman to receive this award.

And Yeoh is also private: she has been with former Formula 1 team boss Jean Todt (77) since 2004. For the French, the matter was immediately clear: “I knew immediately that she was my dream woman. It was fate. She was the woman I had been waiting for».

Schumi’s help with text messages

And Formula 1 legend Michael Schumacher (54) also has his share of the happy relationship between the two.

When Todt was team principal at Ferrari in 2004, he met Yeoh at an event organized by the Italian racing team in Shanghai, to which she had been invited as a guest. Ferrari driver at the time: Michael Schumacher. And as Todt later reveals, the German was helping his boss at the time. In the beginning, he gives him tips via text message on how to better communicate with Yeoh.

And the tips seem to have helped: because just a year later, the two get engaged.

Close friendship with Schumacher

In the years that followed, Schumi became good friends with the couple. According to Germany’s “Bild”, Todt and Yeoh are among the few people who were allowed to visit the seven-time Formula 1 world champion after his tragic skiing accident in 2013 and should know about his health.

Todt is now the UN special envoy for road safety and was chairman of motorsport’s governing body, the FIA, for 12 years until 2021. To honor his partner, he wrote on Twitter: “A moment of pure grace and immense happiness! What a journey! Proud of Michelle, who received the Oscar Academy Award for Best Actress.”
