As part of the fan riots in Aarau, club president Philipp Bonorand said he was thinking about stepping down. Now it’s official: the 42-year-old is not seeking re-election in June.
As the Challenge League club writes on its website, Bonorand has “informed the board of directors of FC Aarau AG that he will step down as chairman of the board of directors and member of the board of directors of FC Aarau AG on the date of the next Ordinary General Assembly and will not resign until a new term of office is provided”.
Between 2019 and 2023, he served three years in the office of the president, another as vice president. Between 2000 and 2008 he was a member of the operational management. (che)
