Several employees have left FC Luzern in recent weeks.

It has also been restless at the office at FC Luzern in recent months. A wave of redundancies has hit the club. The entire sales team has submitted the cancellation. In addition, the IT manager is gone. There are also two employees of the fan shop.

“Unfortunately, personnel changes are also part of a company the size of FC Luzern. Almost all vacancies have already been filled,” explains Luzern media spokesman Markus Krienbühl. However, the Sales Manager and Head of IT vacancies have been on the club’s website for several weeks. However, these will probably be occupied again in the coming weeks.

Shop should shorten opening hours

However, the terminations have nothing to do with the shareholder dispute between Bernhard Alpstaeg and the board of directors of FCL Holding AG. Rather, it is likely that personal reasons are responsible for the respective departure.

While the layoffs in the sales and IT departments don’t really hit the fan, it’s different with the two fanshop employees who have migrated. Because the absences there are immediately noticeable: the store’s opening hours had to be adjusted. In March, the FCL fan shop is only open three days a week from 11:30 am to 5:00 pm.

Actually, now is the most intense time

The shop will be closed next week due to the national team’s break. It remains to be seen to what extent the enthusiast will actually perceive the changed opening hours. With its location behind the stadium on the Allmen, the store does not exactly benefit from casual customers. It is still unclear how the fan shop will open in April.

However, those across the entire sales department are probably more problematic than the fanshop cancellations. A large network of contacts and a lot of know-how are lost. In addition, the timing is extremely unfavorable, as this time of year is always the most intense. It is important to get on track for the next season, to renew sponsorship contracts or to conclude new ones.
