FCB Vogel learn against the VAR

class=”sc-97fd9fa8-0 jNFKxv”>

After the 1-1 draw against FCSG, Heiko Vogel has to talk to the referees.

Heiko Vogel had hoped that the question would not come. But she’s coming. Because she has to come after this game. The question about the VAR.

He made himself heard after Zeki Amdouni made it 1-0 because Diouf was too impetuous in the duel with Karlen in midfield in the previous scene. Referee San has a good view, allows the match to continue, but is sent to the screen by the video referee, sees a violation and withdraws his decision.

And Heiko Vogel no longer understands the football world. “The referee is really bad. He is in a good position and decides ad hoc that it is not a foul. We score a beautiful goal, then the VAR comes.”

That was “disrespectful” to the referees on the field, says Vogel. “Because they’re basically good at it.” And that should be the bosses. That’s why he demands that you go through the books when it comes to VAR intervention. “The gentlemen have to sit down together and look for a solution. Football is losing its appeal. So it’s hard for me to be happy with goals, it takes away the emotion.”

St. Gallen wants second place

Instead of 1-0 for Basel, it was suddenly 0-1 after the break. Sergio Lopez plays a bad pass (O-Ton Vogel: “A wonderful assist”), Julian Von Moos says thank you and plays a beautiful ball on Emmanuel Latte Lath.

Minutes later, Von Moos even had the best chance at 2-0, but carelessly missed from the best position. “If he had gone in, I would have believed in victory,” says FCSG coach Peter Zeidler. But because his defender Vallci made a serious pass (and sent a long ball from Calafiori directly into Zeqiri’s feet) it eventually became 1-1.

Zeidler speaks of a fair result. If the FCSG hadn’t had to miss two of their most important players (Görtler and Guillemenot), even more might have been possible, says the coach. “We miss them both very much,” says the best man on the field, St. Gallen midfielder Jordi Quintillà.

Guillemenot and Görtler are expected back in Winterthur this Sunday. That’s not the only reason why anything but a win would be a disappointment for the East Swiss. Or to say with Jordi Quintilla: “We want to finish second.”

So does the competition. Because this rank, thanks to the UEFA coefficient, entitles you to qualify for the Champions League – and guarantees millions.
