GC fans burn stolen Winti flag

class=”sc-97fd9fa8-0 jNFKxv”>

Grasshoppers followers are responsible for stealing the Winti banners.

The basement duel between GC and Winterthur starts days before. In the night from Thursday to Friday, the Schützenwiese in Winterthur was broken into – banners were stolen from the container. The fear that the culprits could be GC fans was confirmed in the Letzigrund on Sunday afternoon: GC fans burned the stolen Winti banners to great applause and cheers after the start of the second half.

Winti checks ad

The nearly 2,000 Winti fans who traveled with us reacted immediately and hoisted a banner. It reads, “Old scam, tinkering with the container. Well done GCN!” “N” stands for Niederhasli, instead of “Z” for Zurich.

Winterthur’s media chief Andreas Mösli on the theft: “A low-level action. We are looking into whether we will press charges against unknown persons.”

What the players deliver on the field is not low, but it is not a gala either. Shortly before the break, Kawabe served the 7343 spectators best: in distress, he played a beautifully timed through ball to Bolla, who found Dadashov in the middle, who pushed in to take the lead. Winterthur’s Schättin looks old.

Schettine secures Hopper’s victory

The climber equalizes with a restart. Di Giusto dances off Loosli and puts it back on Rodriguez. He hits the net with a full shot. Classification keeper Moreira has no chance. Rodriguez, who comes in at halftime, scores with his first ball contact. The cheering in the Wintibocht is boundless, the banner theft seems to have been forgotten for a while. But Rodriguez is not the man of the match. GC striker Schettine scored after an hour, not seen until then, the 2-1.

It stays that way and GC manages to achieve a small release at the end of the table. With the three you removed the FCZ again with three points -, Sion and Winterthur with five points.

The GC fans are cheering their players and celebrating wildly. However, your action will likely have an aftermath.
