Celebrity Big Brother winner helps cult boxer Thurgau

This duo is as comfortable in the boxing ring as they are on trash TV. And now the two have joined forces. What dazzling figures are we talking about here? On the one hand, there is the Thurgau martial artist Rico “Ramba” Giger (33). And on the other hand there is the German Rainer Gottwald (57), a legendary boxing manager and recent winner on Sat1 in “Celebrity Big Brother”.

Gottwald now wants to help Giger get started in regular boxing after switching from the “Andy Hug discipline” K1. As a multiple K1 World Champion, Giger is already a cult figure as he plays his Schwyzerörgeli before the fights. And Giger has already appeared on the 3+ channel on “Bachelorette” as a candidate and as a TV emigrant.

Due to a meniscus injury, Giger switched from K1 to conventional professional boxing. At the boxing gala in Baden AG, Frauenfelder will fight his second professional fight against the Hungarian debutant Laszlo Sarandi on Saturday.

The performance in Baden promises to be fun. Because Gottwald announces, “When Rico plays his Schwyzerörgeli before the fight, I’ll accompany him on the accordion.”

Gottwald’s commitment to Switzerland has a serious background, he assures: “I want to do something for the Swiss youth, I want to build something here. Swiss boxing needs good grades again.” The German boxing promoter has had a Swiss boxing manager’s license issued for this purpose.

Since Gottwald owns the rights to German boxing broadcasts from streaming giant DAZN, he has a vision: “I dream of organizing a major event for television in Switzerland as well. My goal is for Rico to be featured on DAZN!”
