The Republican is calling for a green light for Djokovic – like ex-pro Tommy Haas, the Indian Wells tournament director, who described the exclusion of unvaccinated people as “sad” and “disappointing”.

It is not surprising that DeSantis is now committed to Djokovic (“Let him play”). The 44-year-old is currently more in focus than ever. Although he has not yet officially announced his candidacy, he is considered one of the contenders for the presidency – an opponent of the Democratic camp around Biden. Also in corona politics, which has long since become an election campaign topic.

Is Djokovic arriving by ship?

In recent times, there have been major discussions in the US about a law signed by DeSantis, according to which schools, companies and authorities can no longer require a Covid vaccination.

Now DeSantis is publicly expressing the opinion that Djokovic is only a danger to his opponents on the tennis court, but not to national security. And the governor immediately came up with an idea to circumvent the entry ban for unvaccinated people, which will apply until mid-April. According to DeSantis, this does not apply to the waterway.
