Oops, SRF commentator Adrian Arnet probably didn’t mean those words to all of Switzerland!
The reporter was just commenting on the men’s departure from Aspen when he made a blunder at the end of the broadcast. After the TV broadcast, Arnet assumes that he can no longer be heard and calls a colleague – which he does not know: all viewers can still listen to the conversation via the online stream.
At the end of the conversation, Arnet gives his colleague a tip: “Be careful not to get beaten up by Basel hooligans.” The person on the other end of the line is probably watching the Super League match between Lucerne and Basel in the stadium.
When the SRF people notice his mistake, all you hear is a “fuck”. It’s not entirely clear who it came from. This gaffe is made extra bitter by the fact that Alexis Monney from Freiburg has just fallen and is being groomed on the slopes. (tired)
