Nadine Riesen would be a great ambassador for public transportation. The footballer rides the train for almost four hours per training and enjoys it. “It relaxes me completely: I read a book, listen to music or call. Taking the train is perfect for relaxing.”

She probably needs that too, because the 22-year-old has a lot to do besides the railway: the trained dental assistant plays at FCZ, lives in Bern and works as a daycare center in a day school in Muri.

However, it is out of the question that you change your place of residence, your job or your club in order to minimize the time required. Everything fits perfectly for giants right now. The “beautiful” Bern as a place to live, her two great colleagues as roommates, her job and the FCZ. “We have a great team. It’s great fun.”

Just like her job. She cares for and entertains children daily from 11am to 2:30pm. «After lunch we play games. I often play football outside with the kids. The fact that I like it and still shoot it well is like hitting the jackpot – especially with the guys.”

Good “freight forwarding” is a bit of an understatement. The fast and athletic international won the double with FCZ last season. This season should be no different. “We want to do everything we can to get the double again. Napkin and GC are also strong and it won’t be easy, but we certainly have the quality for it.”

And she gives everything for that. She travels to the FCZ campus in Heerenschürli four times a week to train and trains alone at least three times in the morning. “It works perfectly, we have our training program on an app.” She plays for fun and passion. For football, she even went to the sports recruiting school. She lived like a professional football player. «Sleep, eat, physio, train. Conditions in Magglingen were excellent.”

And if you could make a living from football, which country would you like to be in? Giants: «I like to play in the rain. In addition, I am more of an athletic player, not an ace in a technical sense. That’s why I prefer to play in England.”

But her greatest wish is that she will always enjoy playing. “Like now at the FCZ and with the children after lunch in the garden.”
