Mourinho fined two games and 10,000 euros for reprimanding the referee

“I need to know if there are audio recordings because the fourth one didn’t have the honesty to tell his partner what he said to me,” he commented after the fight

Portuguese José Mourinho, coach at Rome, was punished with a two-match suspension and a fine of 10,000 euros, after being sent off yesterday in a match his team lost to Cremonese (2-1).

The sports referee believes that the coach “responded to the arbitration decision with a fierce and provocative attitude”, after the clash with the fourth referee at the beginning of the second half.

“I need to know if there are audio recordings of what he told me. I don’t want to go into the fact that he is from Turin and that we are playing against juve this day and he wants me off the bench,” he said into the microphones DAZN after losing to Cremonese (2-1).

“I need to know if there is anything I can do from a legal point of view, because the referee is excluding me because the fourth referee told him to do so. Unfortunately, the fourth one did not have enough honesty to tell his partner what he said to me, the way he said it to me and the way he treated me, which obviously caused my reaction – he added. According to the video, the fourth official would say to the Portuguese coach: “Everyone is laughing at you, go home.”

“People who have known me for many years know that I am emotional, but I am not crazy. And the fact that I had a reaction like the one I had is because something happened,” explained Setubalense, who was sent off in the 47th minute. “Maybe it’s the first time in my career that the fourth official talked to me about an unjustified way,” Mourinho said.

“I went to the referee’s dressing room when the game ended. I was lucky that Piccinini (the referee) was fourth in the match where I was sent off because I spoke badly about the referee, and he saw me going to the dressing room and I apologized to him at that moment. Today Piccinini saw me come in and say in the room, ‘I want you to be honest and say what happened,’ he said.
