More than a thousand kilometers on a motorcycle from Ceuta to Pontevedra to see his team win

Author: GC

César González traveled to see the First Federation game on Friday and will now return to see his team against Celta B and Dépor

A thousand kilometers on a motorcycle is nothing Cesar Gonzalez. He traveled twelve hours from Ceuta to Pontevedra to see the team at the bottom move up one place in the category. Even though half of Spain was frozen over, that didn’t ruin the plans of this recently retired cyclist. If there is snow in the area Puebla de Sanabria and Ourense, he crossed the peninsula through Portugal to reach Galicia. The Ruta de la Plata followed. At six thirty in the morning he took the ferry to Algeciras and took the highway towards Pontevedra. I wanted to show the team that it is going well, that if I can do it, so can they”, explains this recently retired motorcyclist who keeps the message “yes we can”.

I made the ascent in one breath, got on the ferry at 6:30 in the morning, at eight I got on the motorcycle in Algeciras and at half past eight in the evening I crossed the Pontevedra estuary, explains this motorcycle madman, who sees his team play whenever he can. Of course, it is the opportunity that has gone the farthest. Ceuta and Pontevedra are the antipodes of Group 1 of the First Federation, are teams that are separated by several kilometers. But that doesn’t matter to him. It is not an effort for him to sit on a motorcycle, and even less to see his team. Even his lower position did not discourage him. And without a doubt it was worth it. Ceuta won Pontevedra CF and left his position on the edge of the category. “Now I went to see Ceuta in Pontevedra, but it is possible, God willing, that he is at the matches of Dépor and Celta B», warns César González, who answers the phone this Monday morning at a stop on the road he made outside Coimbra, where he spent the night on his way back. He managed to do it in one breath, but on the way back he slept in the north of Portugal.

His plan was to see Ceuta, but there was more. As a good football player, he has a divided heart. Half is from Ceuta and the other half from Atlético de Madrid. So he asked where it was mattress club in Pontevedra and located it. “On Saturday, I watched the game with them at the Rúas Hotel, where you usually see those from Peña,” explains González. After that match, he still had time to walk around the city and enjoy the “Ravachol burial” and the end of the carnival.

After the holiday Saturday, Easter Sunday followed. He joined a small group of Ceuta fans living in Galicia to see his team climb out of last place. “Pontevedra seemed impressive to me and I hope the team is saved, it deserves it”, comments César González, who hopes to arrive on the ferry to Ceuta around 6:30 p.m. However, as a good biker, he points out that “hurry kills, the best is the narrated journey”. And there is much more to tell. He has been riding a motorcycle all his life, but at his place 61 years old and recently retired, “On permanent vacation” he hopes to continue touring Africa and following Ceuta around the peninsula. This time it comes with a trophy. “At the end of the game, the players came to greet us and Frabrizio asked who crossed the country on a motorcycle. When I told him it was me, he gave me a shirt. They promised to do it if they win,” César proudly admits, returning with the trophy in his suitcase.
