Duplantis breaks world indoor record

Armand Duplantis sets the world record one centimeter higher at 6.22 meters.

The Swede Armand Duplantis improves the pole vault world record to 6.22 m at the indoor meeting in Clermont-Ferrand. The athlete, who grew up and lives in the US, has risen an inch compared to the World Cup in Eugene in the summer 2022.

The 23-year-old Olympic champion has held the world record since February 8, 2020, when he jumped 6.17m in Torun, Poland, beating France’s Renaud Lavillenie from the top. When it comes to pole vaulting, World Athletics makes no distinction between indoor and outdoor records.

Angelica Moser exceeds 4.56 m in the women’s category. She is now 7th in the best list of the European season. Next weekend, the defending champion from Zurich will participate in the European indoor championships in Istanbul. (SDA)
