So freezing and Sergio Ramos was dumped from the national team

Sergio Ramos last played for Spain on March 31, 2021 in the World Cup qualifier against Kosovo.

Sergio Ramos is Spain’s record international. A man of great merit. In 180 international matches in 18 years, the tough central defender has captivated his home country to the bone. No new game will be added. Ramos is out! The new coach no longer plans with the 36-year-old. He shared this unworthily with the central defender.

Ramos was world champion in 2010 and European champion in 2008 and 2012. His departure from the national team had long been indicated, as he was no longer nominated for the World Cup in Qatar by then coach Luis Enrique. Now his hopes of a comeback for the national team under new coach Luis de la Fuente have finally been dashed – in an undignified manner.

You actually do something like that with a nice meal, but not over the phone. Ramos is correspondingly disappointed: “It is with a heavy heart that this is the end of a path that I had hoped would last longer and end with a better taste, similar to all the successes we have achieved with La Roja. I sincerely believe that this path deserved to end by my own decision or because the performance is not at the level of our national team. Not for age reasons or for other reasons that I didn’t directly hear, but felt.”

The whole goodbye is reminiscent of Valon Behrami. Vladimir Petkovic kicked the “warrior” out of the national team in a three-minute phone call in 2018. In September, Behrami spoke about this eviction and his current relationship with Petkovic: “I only want to have people in my life who are good to me. I trusted him and he betrayed me. That hurt a lot. I don’t need him anymore and I don’t want to talk to him anymore.”

Everything has probably been said between Luis de la Fuente and Ramos. The PSG player addressed the fans: “I am going home with unforgettable memories, with all the titles we fought and celebrated together and with the immense pride I have as the national player with the most caps of all time. This badge , this shirt and these fans, all of you, made me happy.”

And Ramos promises to keep his fingers crossed for La Roja in the future. “I will continue to support my country and its players with the passion of a man who is lucky enough to have represented it 180 times.”
