Max Verstappen wrote Formula 1 history again: In Mexico he celebrated his fourteenth win of the season.
The Red Bull driver started from pole position and never had any problems. Lewis Hamilton was well behind second place, just ahead of Verstappen’s teammate Sergio Pérez.
With fourteen wins, Verstappen overtakes Michael Schumacher (2004) and Sebastian Vettel (2013), although the Formula 1 calendar in those years consisted of fewer races than the current figure of 22.
Verstappen also needs to win the remaining two races of the season in order to book the season’s most successful driver percentage.
