After 18 years at Red Bull, Lee Stevenson (right next to Max Verstappen) is now starting his Hinwil adventure.

The Hinwil team has not scored any points in eight races. Since then they have been talking about bankruptcies, bad luck and especially accidents. The pit stop drama is not over yet. The necessary spare parts will probably not arrive until the end of this month.

Wheel nut is stuck

The problem was the same for the first three races: the wheel nut was stuck on the hub and had to be replaced with difficulty, which was not possible in less than 20 seconds.

The statistics say: Ferrari will become world champion

Of course you lose a lot of time and good positions that might end in points. It goes without saying that team representative Alunni Bravi and the two drivers Bottas and Zhou always preach the same thing to the slowly bored fans: “We are ready for points, the car is making progress!”

“Points possible in all races!”

Alunni Bravi on social platforms: “Once the pit stop problem is solved, we will have more chances to score points! Because that is the level that our car has shown! “We are also able to finish in the points in every race.”

The other end of the pit lane

As Blick announced in Bahrain, Kick-Sauber will bring previous Verstappen chief mechanic Lee Stevenson (40) to Hinwil – only thanks to the Audi initiative. He started his new job on Monday by flying to Japan. The Briton after 18 years at Red Bull: “I am now moving to the other side of the pit lane. But this work is a big challenge.”

Always known…

In 2024, you won’t hear the word “first points” anymore – and if it works, you’ll always have known it. So let’s take a look at Hinwil’s last five World Cup starts.

2019: Wonderstart

In the first four races, the team from the Zurich Oberland was only able to score points thanks to Räikkönen: eighth, seventh, ninth and tenth.

2020: 9th and then 7 zeros

The postponed Corona start started with a bang: Giovinazzi scored two points in Spielberg. But then there were seven races without counting!

2021: Waiting for Monaco

The fans had to wait until the fifth race for success. Giovinazzi then finished ninth in Monte Carlo.

2022: Explosion begins

After three races, Alfa-Sauber greeted us with an almost uncanny 13 championship points. Bottas and Zhou benefited from having the lightest car in the field. The advantage did not last long.

2023: Five points

The comparison with the first three races like this year: 6 World Championship points! Bottas: 8th in Bahrain. Zhou: 9th in Australia.
