Happy Birthday Fredy Chassot: The crazy man celebrates his 55th birthday

class=”sc-cffd1e67-0 iQNQmc”>

The French-speaking Swiss Fredy Chassot was more than just a footballer, he was also a madman. Stephan Lehmann, teammate at Sion, once said about Chassot: “Sometimes he would just eat a glass of wine and swallow it. The craziness!” Today, Sunday, Chassot celebrates his 55th birthday.

Even at the age of eight, he had only one goal: he wanted to become a sports reporter. Said and done. Sepp Renggli later became Switzerland’s most legendary sports reporter and the voice of Radio Beromünster. He reported on the Tour of Switzerland 47 times and participated in 16 Olympic Games as a journalist. The Kriens resident died in January 2015.
He would get his on Easter Monday 100th anniversary to celebrate.

Wrote 27 years ago today Martina Hingis Sports history. On March 31, 1997, at the age of 16, she became the youngest ever number 1 in the world in women’s tennis. A position that the Swiss woman held for a total of 209 weeks (5th place in the best list of all time).

Men’s Curling: Latest Swiss World Cup medals

1. Yannick Schwaller (29): Bronze 2023
The 2024 World Curling Championships have been taking place in Schaffhausen since yesterday, where Schwaller is also present and will celebrate his 29th birthday on Sunday. Last year he won World Cup bronze in Canada thanks to an 11-3 win against Italy.

2. Peter de Cruz (34): Bronze 2021
Three years ago, Switzerland only finished the round robin in sixth place, but then the Geneva de Cruz team turned up the heat and eventually won a medal with bronze.

3. Peter de Cruz (34): Bronze 2019
Two years earlier, De Cruz returned from a World Cup with a bronze medal. The fact that there was not enough to do more was due to an extremely narrow defeat in the semi-final against Canada (5:6).

4. Peter de Cruz (34): Bronze 2017
The Cruz for third! Once again his team narrowly had to admit defeat in the semi-finals, 5:6 against Sweden, but in the match for third place the Swiss defeated the USA 7:5 and still won bronze.

5. Peter de Cruz (34): Bronze 2014
All good things come in four! De Cruz also won bronze in 2014. By the way, the last silver medal was in 2003 (Ralph Stöckli), and the last gold medal was in 1992 (Markus Eggler).
