Will continue to travel together for at least the next three years: Franjo von Allmen and his Head skis.

“World Cup Rebels” – that is what the ski company Head calls the athletes who race down the slopes on their skis during the World Cup. Swiss shooting star Franjo von Allmen (22) will also be there for the next three years.

“My motto is: never change a running system!” In German: Never change a working system. “There were other offers, but that was no problem for me,” Von Allmen explains about the long-term contract extension with Head to Blick.

Hoofd is also very happy that the 22-year-old Bernese Oberlander is staying. Race director Rainer Salzgeber praises his protégé for his “excellent performance” last winter, especially the fact that he managed to achieve his first podium in the twelfth World Cup race. They don’t expect a winning streak from him, but they also know what potential he has: “That gives us a lot of joy,” Salzgeber said in the press release.

Even faster with the old service man from Feuz?

Franjo von Allmen’s contract extension is supplemented with a new soldier. Sepp Kuppelwieser, who prepared Beat Feuz’s skis for years and was responsible for the Austrians Stefan Babinsky and Lukas Feuerstein last season, will take charge of von Allmen’s skis in the future. “That completes it.” Kuppelwieser already replaced Von Allmen’s serviceman once last season and did “a great job”. “And Beat’s successes show that he is an absolute top man. Sepp has a very calm demeanor, I think that is important.”

Von Allmen deliberately opted for a three-year contract, although a term of more than two years is common in the ski circus. “I want to build something cool and sustainable.”

Tiring topic about stick breaking

Despite many positives, Von Allmen’s season ended in frustration at the last Super-G of the season in Saalbach (A) after a broken pole. “The same accident happened to me in Val Gardena in December. That’s why I’ll have to have some serious words with my pole supplier,” he announced after finishing 16th in the World Cup final.

Von Allmen does not get his sticks from Head, but from the German sports store Leki. But change is no problem there either. ‘I spoke to them on the phone. Such mistakes shouldn’t happen, but they can still happen. But actually I am very happy with Leki.” Therefore, there is no reason to change the functioning system with the sticks – exactly according to his motto.
