German replaces Haas: GC has a new sports director

Scared in Niederhasli. The German Stephan Schwarz (53) will be the new sports director at GC. This means that former sports director Bernt Haas (45) must leave the club immediately. The residents of Zurich announced this on their homepage on Wednesday.

Now Haas has to give way again. In his place, Stephan Schwarz will take over a new role in Switzerland. He started his career as a youth coach at VfB Stuttgart before moving to the Swabians’ scouting department as head scout. This was later followed by positions in 1860 in Munich, Hoffenheim and Augsburg. The 53-year-old was most recently active there as chief scout and technical director.

“We are pleased that we have been able to bring an experienced football expert to the Grasshopper Club Zurich with Stephan Schwarz,” the statement quoted Harald Gärtner, European boss of partner club LAFC, as saying.
