As part of the top scorer award in Bern, Blick organized a puck challenge with all the top scorers of the National League, with hockey reporter Nicole Vandenbrouck (l.) stacking the pucks on the kick of EVZ goalkeeper Lino Martschini.

Not in their usual equipment, but in fine thread or elegant suits, the best goalscorers of all National League clubs take the baton. As part of the top scorer award in Bern, they face a slightly different challenge with their work equipment: how many pucks can they hold on to the stick blade while stretching the stick straight forward?

Some stars misjudged when they had to make an announcement about the possible number. “They are heavier than expected,” says Fribourg-Swede Marcus Sörensen (31), the competition’s top scorer. To clarify, a game puck with a diameter of 7.62 centimeters and a height of 2.54 centimeters should weigh between 156 and 170 grams.

It’s not just the Finnish connection around Toni Rajala (32, Biel), Antti Suomela (29, Lausanne), Sakari Manninen (32, Geneva) and Aleksi Saarela (27, SCL Tigers) cheering each other on – at least that’s what you think that no one else understands Finnish. The Czech trio Roman Cervenka (38, Lakers), Matej Stransky (30, Davos) and Michael Spacek (26, Ambri) are also watching the match and watching closely whose hands start to shake and when.

How the Swiss Denis Malgin (27, ZSC Lions), Lino Martschini (31, Zug) and Calvin Thürkauf (26, Lugano) did when they were outnumbered, or the Canadians Jonathan Ang (26, Kloten) and Daniel Audette ( 27, Ajoie ) can claim whether Dominik Kahun (28, Bern), the only German in the group, will be victorious will be seen in their clips in the coming days.

“I didn’t think I could do so many,” one of the stars admits in surprise. But suddenly the best player on a Women’s League team also faces the challenge…
