Thanks to two goals within 79 seconds, Olten beats the GCK Lions and takes the lead in the semi-final series.
After four away wins in the first four games, Olten, third in qualifying, took a provisional decision this time in the middle third. Stanislav Horansky and François Beauchemin turned 1:1 into 3:1 within 79 seconds in front of more than 4,000 spectators in the small forest, shortly before the middle of the race. In the end it is 5:2.
Olten lost the first two home games 3:5, but won twice in Küsnacht. Now interim coach Gary Sheehan’s team has a chance of reaching the final on Tuesday.
Last year’s qualifying winner and B champion La Chaux-de-Fonds is already in the final. Of the remaining teams, only Olten has the right to contest the league qualification against the loser of the play-out between Kloten and Ajoie if they win the final. (SDA/mbi)
