On the first two matchdays of the Bundesliga, Granit Xhaka (31) was part of the ‘Eleven of the Day’, which is published by the German football magazine ‘Kicker’. After twenty rounds without a nomination, the Swiss is back in the top team.
In addition to Nati’s captain, Bayern’s star striker Harry Kane (30) and DFB national player Robin Gosens (29) from Union Berlin also made it into the top eleven. Xhaka is the only Swiss to receive the honor this season so far.
Xhaka scored the opening goal against Mainz after just three minutes on Friday evening. It was his first goal in his 31st league match in the Werkself jersey.
