The centerpiece completes the destinations: Tour de Suisse with a mountain finish on the Gotthard Pass

The finish of the 4th stage on Switzerland’s most famous Alpine pass will undoubtedly be a highlight of the 87th edition of the Tour of Switzerland, which starts on Sunday, June 9 in Vaduz. The next day the route runs from Liechtenstein to Regensdorf. The community of Zurich will be the venue for the Tour of Switzerland for the first time. Tuesday’s third stage starts not far away in Steinmaur, the finish is in Rüschlikon on the shores of Lake Zurich. From there the drivers left for the Gotthard Pass the next day.

The busiest pass in the history of the Tour of Switzerland promises a lot of spectacle. The last time a stage on the Gotthard Pass came to an end was in 2019, when Egan Bernal won the day. This year, unlike the arrival five years ago, it will be approached from the north side via Schöllenenschlucht and Andermatt.

Then follows a detour to Ticino. The 5th stage takes you from Ambri to the mountain village of Carì, the next day it goes from Locarno towards Valais to Blatten-Belalp. The starting point for the final weekend is Villars-sur-Ollon in the Vaud Alps.

Women’s tour only in French-speaking Switzerland

The fourth edition of the Tour de Suisse Women will be held exclusively in French-speaking Switzerland. Parallel to the men’s final weekend, the first two sections will also take place in Villars-sur-Ollon. The third part starts in Vevey on Lake Geneva and leads to Champagne. The small village on Lake Neuchâtel will also be the start and finish point of the fourth and final stage on Tuesday, June 18.
