Short tracker Roes was out all season with a hip injury: “It’s going to be a long process”

Short tracker Sven Roes (22) will not be in action this season. An operation on his hip will cost him eight to twelve months of rehabilitation.

Roes has been struggling with hip issues for a while, so he recently did some research. It turned out that an operation is necessary. Roes made his debut at the games in China this winter.

Roes responded to the news on his Facebook page. “It was really difficult to get this message. It’s going to be a long journey, but I’ll do everything I can to be back as soon as possible.”

The short track season starts this weekend with the first World Cup in Montreal. The World Cup final will take place in Dordrecht in mid-February.
