Marlen Reusser is in strong form early in the season. The 32-year-old Berner from Team SD Worx can no longer miss the overall victory in the Tour of Valencia.
In the final stage, Reusser successfully defended the orange leader’s jersey, which she took over on Friday with her solo victory in the second stage. The four-day tour in Spain was well attended despite the lack of WorldTour status.
For Reusser it is a tailor-made start. This is a year that has two special highlights in store: the Summer Olympics in Paris and the home world championship in Zurich. For now, the Olympic silver medalist and two-time World Championship silver medalist in the time trial is concentrating on the classic races. On Saturday, Reusser will participate in her first WorldTour race of the season in the Omloop Het Nieuwsblad in Belgium. (SDA)
