Jérémy Desplanches qualified for the semi-finals of the 200m individual medley at the World Swimming Championships in Doha – with the best time of all participants in the heats. The Geneva narrowly missed the limit for the Olympic Games in Paris.
Desplanches clocked 1:58.17 minutes, missing the time required to participate in the summer games by 23 hundredths. The time is exactly two seconds above the Swiss record that Romand swam when he won the bronze medal at the 2021 Olympic Games in Tokyo.
Desplanches will soon have the next chance to achieve 1:57.94: the semi-finals are scheduled for Wednesday evening. (SDA)
