In a duel with Josis Predators: Fiala secures King’s victory with a goal over half the field

Kevin Fiala wins the duel between the currently most productive Swiss in the NHL against Roman Josi. He beat the Los Angeles Kings 4-2 against the Nashville Predators – and was also a goal scorer.

Predators versus Kings is not only the match of the currently most successful Swiss point collectors. It’s also the meeting of two teams who have struggled of late – and who could become direct competitors in the battle for the play-off places. In the Western Conference rankings, the Kings are currently ranked 7th and the Predators are ranked 9th. The first eight teams have qualified for the decisive phase.

The Tennessee team around Captain Josi suffered its third defeat in a row, the fifth in the last six games. The low level of the California team with Fiala has taken on even more serious aspects. In the previous 16 matches, only two were won.

One goal each in the first two thirds

The Kings laid the foundation for one of the rare success stories with a goal in the first and second thirds to take a 2-0 lead. In the third period, they were able to respond to the Predators’ subsequent goals.

Josi prepared Nashville’s second goal from Canadian Philip Tomasino three and a half minutes before the end. For the Bernese, the assist is number 35 in the current championship. Together with the 10 goals, this yields 45 scorer points. Fiala made the decision 69 seconds before the final siren with his goal into the empty goal.
