After a violent fall in Cortina: American star Shiffrin leaves the rest of the season open

The American reported this on Instagram on Friday evening. She leaves open what the rest of her season will look like. The only thing that is clear is: “I will not be in action for the rest of this weekend and I will not start at the Kronplatz (giant slalom, editor).” What will happen next is difficult to say at this point.

“I’m in a lot of pain right now”

The U.S. ski team reported that afternoon that the exceptional athlete had been fortunate in adversity: the ligaments in her knee were all intact. Shiffrin herself will contact us again if there is new information, she writes in her post. ‘I take it day by day. I am very grateful that it has not gotten worse, but I am in a lot of pain at the moment,” said the overall World Cup leader.

Meanwhile, Shiffrin is proud of her teammates; five of the six American athletes finished in the points in Cortina. “Oh my God, seeing the team’s results puts a smile on my face.” She is looking forward to the downhill on Saturday and the Super-G on Sunday.
