The 56-year-old is on the boards for the Zurich derbies this weekend, so he can lose to ZSC. But the EHC can also win. The Canadian has just scored a brace in the 3-1 win and says: “We can’t use a third coach in a season. It’s up to us players. We made mistakes that cost us games.”

Well, Morley is standing up for coach Mitchell, who extended his contract as team leader for two years in mid-December. The 32-year-old takes responsibility for the team, which certainly shares responsibility for the low-altitude flight. “We were vulnerable,” Morley said, “many of us didn’t score again.” But we should not panic, we should show solidarity.

“We shot ourselves in the foot partly because we were frustrated. We have been working to regain our confidence. This process took a little longer. Now we have been rewarded with victory.” According to the striker, this was only possible because the team believed in itself. But Morley knows: “The Lions are going to make it even more difficult for us on Sunday.”
