The new Schaffhausen bosses with CEO Jimmy Berisha (41) and sports director Admir Mehmedi (32) are running like crazy at the bottom of the Challenge League, but a major problem from the previous era is slowing down the great optimism in the FCS. And according to the latest revelations from “Schaffhauser AZ”, this problem is becoming more and more explosive.

We are talking about the main sponsor and namesake of the stadium, Berformance. This company saved the club in the summer. But with what money is still unclear. Even a press conference with Berformance boss Christian Lux provided no real information about the company’s business model, which is somewhere in the IT, blockchain and Bitcoin industries and would promise its investors incredibly high profits.

But it is now becoming increasingly clear that Berformance, despite contracts until 2025, will hardly be a long-term part of the club under the new FCS management around Berisha. According to information from Blick, the club is already looking for a new main sponsor. In plain language: the interlude with the mysterious sponsor will be ended as soon as possible – especially since the company is now in the crosshairs of the German financial regulator and apparently also has payment problems. Not to mention the damage to the statue.

But one thing is also clear: the cash-strapped Challenge League club can only afford a change of main sponsor if new money comes from elsewhere. But something is happening here too. Star banker Boris Collardi (49) is the man from Geneva who was already rumored to be a possible new FCS investor when Berisha started his job.

Star banker from Geneva as a new club partner?

Now the former CEO of Julius Baer, ​​​​who is already involved with the Serie A club Lecce, has confirmed to “Schaffhauser AZ” his interest in joining the FCS. Will Collardi be the new club owner who buys the shares still deposited with former president Roland Klein? CEO Berisha van Schaffhausen does not want to confirm this, nor the upcoming exit of Berformance. But he tells Blick: “We are happy that there is interest in the FCS. But we are currently in discussions with several donors.”

Apparently, Berisha continues to pursue its three-phase plan, targeting regional, national and international key players in its shareholder search. Collardi would now be a national solution – but despite 175 million francs in assets and his place on the ‘Balance Sheet’ list of the 300 richest Swiss, a look at Collardi’s private involvement in the business world shows that he is a fan of minority investments. Will Geneva possibly take over the club together with other new partners?

The only thing that seems clear is that Berformance, the current primary sponsor, is not part of the FCS future.
