“Jasmine feels something in her neck”: this is how Flury feels after her Zauchensee crash

Violent start: Jasmine Flury falls at the Super-G in Zauchensee. But she drives to the finish alone.

An early starting number is rarely an advantage in Super-G. World downhill champion Jasmine Flury (30) with starting number 3 knows this. Without being able to see the rides of the athletes in front of her on TV, she still starts strong.

Then, at 44 seconds, everyone in the finish area takes their breath away. Flury breaks through a weight shift in the Lercheneck and flies into the net with full force.

The shock is in the bones of the winner of the Val d’Isère descent. Nevertheless: Flury gets up and drives to the finish. She doesn’t like to talk – understandable. Head coach Beat Tschuor gave the signal an hour later: “Jasmine feels a bit in her neck, but otherwise everything is fine.”

But it is also a fact: Zauchensee was not worth the trip for her. 11th, 10th place and a painful crash – this is not what Flury imagined.
