Melanie Hasler stood on the podium for the second time this season at the home World Cup in St. Moritz. In the two-man bobsled she took third place with Mara Morell.
Just like her life partner Michael Vogt on Saturday, Melanie Hasler only had to admit defeat to two German sleds with the two-man team on Sunday. The 25-year-old from Aargau and her pusher from Graubünden, Mara Morell, lose 38 hundredths to Laura Nolte, who triumphed for the second time after the season opener in La Plagne.
Especially in the second lap, Hasler showed an excellent ride on the track and confidently secured 3rd place. The Swiss women also hold up well at the start, although Hasler injured his thigh at the Swiss championships on New Year’s Eve. For them it is the second podium of the season after a second place with the monobob in La Plagne, and the fourth overall with the two-man. Morell, who joined Hasler’s team this season, is on a World Cup podium for the first time.
In the overall standings, Hasler improved to 4th place. (SDA)
