Kohler then had to be immediately taken away by helicopter. Walter Reusser, Swiss-Ski’s alpine director, told SRF at the same time that Kohler had probably injured his right knee more seriously: “He has been stabilized and is now being taken to a hospital and examined further.” One Marco wins, the other gets injured. Reusser: “The mood is difficult.”

The 22-year-old starts immediately after Kohler, but because the starting intervals are shortened, he is already on his way and has to be waved away. Despite a few race meters in his legs and a helicopter flight back to the start, Von Allmen made it into the top 20 and finished 14th.
