YB legend Jean-Pierre Nsamé has expressed his dissatisfaction. Does he leave the people of Bern in winter – even towards Basel?
Football editorial

YB

  • Trainer: Rafael Wicky
  • arrivals:
  • Departure: Leandro Zbinden (?)
  • This is to be expected: YB actually needs the outside positions. But sports director Steve von Bergen sees it differently, even though Kastriot Imeri is out until the end of the season. It will be exciting to see what happens next for Jean-Pierre Nsame and Aurèle Amenda, who are unhappy with their playing time. At Amenda it cannot be ruled out that a top offer will come in the winter that will make YB weak. There were already a few in the summer. But YB remained steadfast. And at Nsame? The contract of the thirty-year-old French-Cameroonian runs until the end of the season. It’s hard to believe YB will renew. Then leaving immediately is an option. There are also questions about the top stars Meschack Elia and Ali Camara. If they make it to the Africa Cup of Nations, it could generate immediate interest. It is also expected that coach Raphael Wicky will extend his contract in January, which also runs until the summer.

St. Gallen

  • Trainer: Peter Zeidler
  • arrivals:
  • Departure: Gabriel Lüchinger (career-ending).
  • This is to be expected: The St.Gallen selection consists of 29 players. And in almost every position there are double or triple positions. Sports director Alain Sutter has already done his homework this summer. And he probably got a good grade for it from his former teacher Peter Zeidler. Only in central midfield could anything work. Because Betim Fazliji will probably only be able to attack again next season after his cruciate ligament tear. Like every year, the FCSG takes its own young players to the training camp. Whether they can establish themselves in the second half of the season is doubtful due to the high quality of the team. It is possible that things will change in the summer. Because a total of 10 player contracts are expiring.

FC Zurich

  • Trainer: Bo Henriksen
  • arrivals:
  • Departure:
  • This is to be expected: The future of successful coach Bo Henriksen (48) hangs over the club like a big question mark. If they do not disperse in winter, the Danes must be gone by summer at the latest. But regardless of the coach, it is clear what Henriksen demanded in vain last summer: a snapper to succeed the sold top scorer Aiyegun Tosin (25). The Zambian attacking talent Joseph “Sabobo” Banda (18), who already played as a test player for the FCZ youth team at the Blue Stars/Fifa Youth Cup, is likely to come to Zurich soon, but is of course a perspective player and not one for immediate help. It will be exciting to see what Zurich plans to do with top players Antonio Marchesano (32), Adrian Guerrero (25) and Nikola Boranijasevic (31). The trio’s contracts expire next summer.

Napkin

  • Trainer: Rene Weiler
  • arrivals: Sawadogo (Nyon, loan repayment).
  • Departure:
  • This is to be expected: The big question in Geneva concerns the position of the striker. Chris Bedia (27) has an expiring contract and can officially negotiate with other clubs from January 1. If a contract extension is not possible in the coming weeks, it can be sold in the winter. Then replacement is necessary. How about Jean-Pierre Nsame (30)? The Cameroonian is dissatisfied with his playing time at YB and the Servette fans dream of welcoming him back into their own ranks. Meanwhile, there is a rumor from Japan that Servette is chasing midfielder Ryuji Izumi (30). Coach René Weiler knows him from their time together at Kashima Antlers. It is also unclear whether the injured loanee Jérôme Onguéné (25) will be replaced by another central defender.

Lugano

  • Trainer: Mattia Croci Torti
  • arrivals: Ousmane Doumbia (Chicago, loan return).
  • Departure:
  • This is to be expected: There wouldn’t be much to do in Ticino. As sporting director Carlos Da Silva revealed in an interview with “Corriere del Ticino”, the transfer market will largely depend on whether compensation is needed for departure. The Bianconeri’s aim is to start the second half of the season with the same team and returnee Ousmane Doumbia (31).

Lucerne

  • Trainer: Mario Frick
  • arrivals: Samuel Alabi (Baden, on loan).
  • Departure:
  • This is to be expected: Sports director Remo Meyer has announced a central defender for January. Possible names are Stefan Knezevic (27; Charleroi) and Joel Bichsel (21; Freiburg II). Moreover, it cannot be ruled out that changes will occur during the storm. Meyer is also in important contract talks with his namesake Max Meyer (28), left back Martin Frydek (31), veteran Denis Simani (32) and substitute Vaso Vasic (33). All four have an expiring contract. The FCL wants to expand with everyone.

Winterthur

  • Trainer: Patrick frame
  • arrivals:
  • Departure: Laurin Voegele (Cham).
  • This is to be expected: The FCW has 29 players in the selection. Quite too much for the limited financial resources. It is possible that one or two players will leave the club. A total of twelve contracts at FCW will expire next summer. Goalkeeper Markus Kuster is bound until 2025, but is not satisfied with his situation. He started the season as number 1, but then had to make way for YB loanee Marvin Keller and publicly expressed his dissatisfaction with this decision.

GC

  • Trainer: Bruno Berner
  • arrivals:
  • Departure: Nigel Lonwijk (?).
  • This is to be expected: The Hoppers have an acute need for the full-back positions. On the left, Michael Kempter (28) has been out injured for the entire season, while on the right, Dirk Abels (26) has been struggling with muscle injuries for some time. As an alternative to Abels, the desired goal is clear: GC sports director Bernt Haas has already openly discussed the fact that the Zurich team is once again approaching ex-international Michael Lang (32), who was no longer first choice in Basel, for a return (he was there from 2011 to GC 2015).

Yverdon

  • Trainer: Alessandro Mangiaratti
  • arrivals:
  • Departure:
  • This is to be expected: It is difficult to understand the plans of the American owners. It is clear that William Le Pogam needs a reinforcement at left back. In addition, the departure of promotion hero Kevin Martin from the goalkeeper position is announced, who no longer sees a fair chance for himself. It is likely that the investors will place additional players from their network in Yverdon.

Lausanne Sports

  • Trainer: Ludovic Magnin
  • arrivals:
  • Departure:
  • This is to be expected: On the retail side, Lausanne is looking for a replacement for the injured Alvyn Sanches. Should ex-Nati assistant Vincent Cavin take over as sporting director in January, momentum could be gained in the transfer planning. To avert the risk of relegation, Lausanne will have to strengthen the team across the board.

FC Basel

  • Trainer: Fabio Celestini
  • arrivals:
  • Departure:
  • This is to be expected: “We must correct the mistakes of the summer,” Sports Commission spokesperson Ruedi Zbinden announced – president David Degen agrees. Everything will be put to the test. One thing is clear: Red and Blue need to step up their game in the storm. Servette star Chris Bédia is discussed, and YB hero Nsamé is also discussed within the FCB. New additions can also be expected in defense (left) and midfield. Correcting the mistakes also means giving up players: it is conceivable that Yusuf Demir’s loan will be terminated prematurely. Another candidate who leaves (on loan) is the unfortunate Thierno Barry. Moreover, according to Spanish media, summer newcomer Jonathan Dubasin is already on his way again – to Oviedo.

Stade Lausanne Ouchy

  • Trainer: Ricardo Dionisio
  • arrivals:
  • Departure:
  • This is to be expected: Neo coach Dionisio made it clear to the executives that staying in the league was only possible with new additions in all areas of the team. What is needed is not talent, but seasoned professionals. However, the promoted team’s resources are limited, so Dionisio is unlikely to grant every wish.
