Before the start of the match between the BVB U23 team and Preussen Münster, a suspicious object was discovered in the Rote Erde stadium.

Due to major safety concerns, Wednesday evening’s third division match between Borussia Dortmund II and Preussen Münster has been canceled at short notice. The reason was a suspicious object that, according to the two clubs, was found on Wednesday evening in the guest block of the Rote Erde stadium.

“There has never been any danger to bystanders,” BVB says via the text message service. An alternative date has not yet been determined.”

The match was actually supposed to start on Wednesday at 7 p.m. But because of the suspicious object, neither teams nor fans were allowed into the stadium. (AFP/sbe)
