Hours later the brutal diagnosis followed in Grenoble hospital: a broken tibia. The Canadian speed specialist’s season is over after three races. Bitter.

Fall ends season

A few days after her fatal fall, Fleckenstein reports from the hospital bed. “It wasn’t bloody, but it was still a bit disgusting,” she wrote on Instagram. In addition to photos of her rescue, she also posts a video – which, however, does not show her fall, but the beginning of her journey. The last one for a while.

“The nasty fall at the final gate put me out for the rest of the season,” Fleckenstein added, adding what many already suspected based on her screams.

Hairy problem in bed

“I have a lot of thoughts in my head,” Fleckenstein continued. “But I’ll keep it until I run out of morphine in my system.” It is stable and semi-comfortable. At the same time, she thanks everyone who supports her and for the encouraging messages.

Fleckenstein hasn’t lost her sense of humor despite the abrupt end to the season. On the contrary. In her story she posts a selfie showing her messy hair. “Can someone brush my hair?” she asks.
