Last Saturday there were riots surrounding the Super League match between Lausanne and Servette in Lausanne. The opposing fan camps clashed before and after the match. The chaotic people also attacked private security personnel and police, causing property damage.
The chaotic people threw bottles and pyrotechnic objects, prompting police to use rubber shots and gas. According to the Vaud cantonal police, a police officer was slightly injured during the operation.
The approval authorities are now drawing conclusions. As announced on Tuesday, the home sectors of the two teams will be closed for one match each. At Servette this will be the case in the championship match against Lugano on December 17, while in Lausanne the home curve against St. Gallen will close on January 20, 2024.
If there were to be another meeting between Servette and Lausanne this season, it would be played as a ghost game. (bjl)
