Aline Danioth looks back on her past months.

Aline Danioth (25) has shed a lot of tears this year – especially at the beginning of March. ‘I cried for a week. “All emotions had to be removed,” she revealed to CH Media newspapers this summer. The reason? The skier tore her cruciate ligament for the fourth time. She was repeatedly set back in her career. But this time too, she didn’t think about giving up. On the contrary.

She said she wanted to take everything one step at a time. “I’ve lost so many years in my career, so I don’t put any pressure on myself.” Nine months after her serious injury, Danioth now shows what the steps of her rehabilitation looked like.

First a trip, then an operation

She posted a photo on Instagram with a list of goals she has achieved in recent months. “Celebrate every step” is the motivating title. After the first operation on March 17, it took less than a month before she was off crutches again on April 11. Danioth then went on a trip and flew to the US with a friend. The points she could check off: climbing, jogging and surfing.

She had barely returned from holiday when she had to go under the knife again. On June 7, her cruciate ligament was reconstructed using a piece of her patellar tendon. After this point, Danioth writes, “Now things are looking better!” Four days later an excursion into nature followed and twelve days after the operation she was able to walk again without crutches. She then enjoyed cycling, climbing indoors and outdoors and doing her first strength training.

“Many steps have already been taken!”

“Confidence in Progress” is highlighted below the list in pink highlighter. It continues: “Know that you are exactly where you need to be, even if you are not where you want to be.”

She would certainly like to be in the middle of the ski winter right now. If Danioth had been spared from the injury witch, she would already have three slaloms to her name, maybe even one or two giant slaloms. The reality is different. But: “Many steps have already been taken!” says Danioth. Now the next tests are coming up, and then “the countdown to my favorite rehabilitation goal begins!” And that is – how could it be otherwise – skiing. (beer)
