Paul Pogba (30) is in danger of having to pay an expensive price for his positive doping test. The Italian anti-doping authority has requested a four-year ban for the 2018 world champion.
The Juventus star tested positive for testosterone during the Serie A season opener against Udinese in August. Pogba was not used at all at that time, but was on the bench for the Italian record champions. But I still had to undergo a routine drug test after the match.
The positive result became public in mid-September, after which Pogba was provisionally suspended. At the beginning of October, the result of the B sample confirmed the suspicion of doping. Pogba has now admitted that he had taken a nutritional supplement whose leaflet mentioned performance-enhancing substances. The use of the substance testosterone, which is prohibited in competitive sports, promotes muscle and bone development.
