The weather just isn’t cooperating! After the departure on Friday, the departure on Saturday cannot take place in Beaver Creek (USA). Downhill world champion Marco Odermatt and Co still have to wait for their speed start.

While the large amount of fresh snow and fog on Friday caused the organizers to capitulate, on Saturday there will be more fresh snow falling overnight and strong winds that will not allow any races. An inspection of the Birds of Prey track will take place early in the morning at 8am local time. Even before that, it was clear that the planned start time of 6:45 PM Swiss time could not be achieved. And a short time later it was clear: a safe race was not possible. FIS main race director Markus Waldner has to announce for the fourth time this season that a descent cannot take place.

In mid-November it was already impossible to ski in Zermatt/Cervinia due to fresh snow and wind, and now this fate also affects the ski area in the American state of Colorado. And Beaver Creek also risks the maximum penalty with the cancellation of all scheduled races. A Super-G is scheduled for Sunday evening (6:45 PM Swiss time). It remains to be seen whether it can be driven. The forecasts are not too optimistic, as even more wind is predicted.
