Win streak broken: Devils lose in Meier comeback

Timo Meier (number 28) remains without a goal against his old club San Jose Sharks.

The four-man Swiss faction of the Devils has been reunited on the ice. After Nico Hischier returned last week and led his team to three victories in a row as captain, Meier will also be in a serious battle again on Saturday evening. However, together with goalkeeper Akira Schmid and defender Jonas Siegenthaler, they suffered an unexpected 3:6 home defeat against the San Jose Sharks.

The Sharks, who lost their first ten away games this season and scored only six goals in total, fired only 18 shots at the Emmentaler’s goal, who were moderately successful with 12 saves. His counterpart shines with 44 blocked shots. Meier, a former Sharks forward, is on the ice for more than 21 minutes during his comeback. (SDA)
