Dominic Stricker (ATP 94) achieved his first victory in the second group match at the Next Gen Finals in Saudi Arabia. The Bernese easily defeated the Italian Luca Nardi (ATP 115) in three sets at the ATP Junior Masters.
Stricker responded to the initial defeat on Wednesday, when he lost to his compatriot in four rounds against the Italian Flavio Cobolli (ATP 100) with a lightning victory. In the 4:1, 4:1, 4:2 in just 58 minutes he takes his opponent’s serve four times.
In the last group match on Thursday, Stricker will face the Frenchman Arthur Files (ATP 36). His chances of reaching the semi-finals are still intact with the victory over Nardi. (SDA/bir)
